Training Opportunity Date:
April 10, 2007
Training Opportunity:
Courage to Be Safe/Taking Care of Our Own© Training - The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation has united its two premier
training programs, The Courage to Be Safe and Taking Care of Our Own©, into
one awareness level presentation. The CTBS will introduce and explain the 16
Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives, with unique suggestions for
implementing each one within a fire department setting.
Taking Care of Our Own© will give an overview of line-of-duty deaths in the
United States and offer practical implementation strategies for departments
who suffer a life-threatening injury or LODD. While on the surface these two
programs may appear to present very different material, they are united in
one message: the fire service must unite as one family to eliminate
needless and senseless firefighter fatalities.
